Since 1947, Hale Groves is the #1 Gift Fruit supplier in the country. When Steve and Polly Hale opened their first roadside fruit stand back in 1947, their dream was to share the pure joy of Florida’s fresh, tree-ripened fruit with as many folks as possible. Steve had just returned from active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and Polly believed that Florida’s Indian River area seemed like a great place to raise their two young children, as well.
Their first mailing list was made up of names of all their relatives and friends. But it quickly grew as they added the names of all the happy tourists who’d stopped by to enjoy their remarkable fresh-squeezed orange juice alongside U.S. Highway 1. It was a hands-on operation: Steve picked the fruit, packed it in the shed behind the house, and trucked it to the Railway Express station. Polly answered the phone, wrote gift cards and typed the shipping labels. Much has changed since those early days. We’ve made a lot of friends.
Our family has grown. But when it comes to picking fine fruit, sorting it for size and quality, and packing it for perfect arrival, there’s just no substitute for the personal touch and attention to detail that you’ll find in everything you order from Hale Groves. We promise.
I received the box early in January. It did not contain honeybells. When I complained, they said that they had substituted honeybell type clementines of equal or greater value since the honeybell crop was a problem because of excessive rain. The oranges I received were not honeybell type clementines, but looked and tasted like the oranges I can buy a lot cheaper in the supermarket.
They were the WORSE EVER … grandchildren and myself non of us could eat them what a waste of my hard earned money. Very disappointed. I agree with the others complaining how can you send out BAD FRUIT and expect customers to be happy or recommend your fruits???? YUCK!!!!
